It’s no secret that I love a homemade salad dressing, but this version with jalapeno ranch is one of my all-time favorites! I took the flavor I loved about my popular Chuy’s copycat jalapeno ranch, but made it even creamier and bolder. After testing countless variations, this one has just the right kick and balance for tacos, salads, veggies, and so much more!

Why you will love this recipe:

  • Super Easy – There is cooking involved, just a quick blast in the blender! It’s ready in 2 minutes or less, so literally anyone can make this.
  • Way More Flavorful – Store-bought dressings are more expensive but don’t taste half as good as this. Plus, it’s easy to adjust this to your own preferences!
  • Extremely Versatile – This quick recipe can be a salad dressing, dip, or sauce, making it perfect for taking any and every meal up a notch. Tacos, wings, chips, veggies, even pizza are better with this! You won’t waste a drop because you’ll want it on everything.
  • Diet Friendly & Preservative Free – If you need something low in carbs, fat, or calories, this baby is perfect for you. Tired of mystery ingredients? Perfect, it has none! You can easily avoid common allergens like wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, or nuts as long as you are smart about your ingredients.

Jalapeno Ranch Ingredients

Here is a quick overview of what you will need for this dressing recipe. Scroll to the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page for exact measurements.

  • Plain Greek Yogurt, Milk, and Lime Juice – You can use full-fat or lower-fat versions of the yogurt and milk, whichever is best for your dietary needs. Freshly squeezed lime juice will provide better, brighter flavor than the bottled version.
  • Jalapenos, Fresh Cilantro, and Ranch Seasoning Mix – Jalapenos should be seeded. Make sure you are using the dry ranch seasoning mix, not the liquid dressing.

How to Make Jalapeno Ranch Dressing

This salad dressing could not be any easier! Simply pour all the ingredients into the blender and let it whirl! Taste it and adjust as necessary (more lime or herbs or a little salt, whatever fits your preferences better). Once it tastes perfect and is super smooth, you can use it immediately or store in the fridge.

Storage

Place the dressing in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator up to 1-2 weeks. I don’t recommend freezing this as the Greek yogurt will likely separate, becoming watery and grainy after thawing.

How long does homemade salad dressing last?

Because this recipe doesn’t have preservatives like the store-bought versions, it won’t last as long as those. Make sure to use your ranch dressing within 1-2 weeks for the best taste and texture. If your Greek yogurt or milk are due to expire soon, it may not last as long. Generally, this should be safe until it smells off or begins to mold. Stir before using if it has started to separate in the fridge.

Ways to Use Homemade Salad Dressing

If you think this is reserved for lettuce, think again! Obviously this jalapeno dressing is amazing choice for steak salads, a taco salad board, or our favorite Mexican Street Corn Bowl, but it can do so much more. Use it as a dip for Air Fryer Chicken Tenderloins or Homemade Potato Chips, drizzle it over Air Fryer Okra, or serve it with Air Fryer Zucchini Fries.

Tips and Variations

  • Cilantro hater? No worries! Swap it out with parsley for a flavor that better matches your palate!
  • Looking to lower the fat in your diet? Use a nonfat Greek yogurt and skim milk.
  • Need a dairy-free option? Use plant-based yogurt and milk substitutes (or even silken tofu instead of yogurt for good protein).
  • Want a more Italy-inspired version? Use lemon juice instead of lime and parsley instead of cilantro. This is fantastic drizzled on a BLT, Air Fryer Italian sausages in a bun, or as a dip for this Italian wrap.
