Ingredients
Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll need for this healthy snack. Find exact measurements in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page.
- Salmon – You want skin removed and the salmon filets cut into 1-inch pieces. Try to keep them the same size so that they’ll cook evenly. Feel free to use any type of salmon (Atlantic salmon, Sockeye salmon, etc.)
- Olive oil – Keeps the salmon moist and helps the seasoning stick. Replace with avocado oil, coconut oil, or your preferred cooking oil.
- Seasonings – I used garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, cumin, and oregano. If you prefer, you could replace this with an all-purpose seasoning, Cajun seasoning, homemade BBQ rub, or even blackening seasoning if you prefer more spice. A little honey, soy sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil could add an Asian twist.
- Optional: lime wedges, fresh herbs, or cracked pepper
How to Make Air Fryer Salmon Bites
This quick and simple recipe comes together with just a mixing bowl and an air fryer! Here’s a step-by-step guide to making these juicy salmon bites.
Season salmon
Start by checking all your fish for any bones, making sure the salmon cubes are roughly the same size so they’ll all cook at the same rate. Place them in a mixing bowl and toss with olive oil. In a small bowl, combine all your spices together.
Sprinkle the combined spices over the salmon and stir or toss to coat. Be sure that each piece is well coated on all sides, but be gentle so that the salmon doesn’t start to fall apart.
Cook
Allow your air fryer to preheat to 390 degrees F for 3 minutes. Once hot, lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray (or use a liner if you prefer). Air fry the salmon for 3 minutes, and then gently toss or turn the salmon. Continue cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through completely. Once cooked through, remove with tongs.
How to serve salmon bites
Start by garnishing your juicy salmon bites with finely chopped parsley, cilantro, or other herbs. Squeeze a lime wedge over the salmon (or use lemon juice if you prefer), and serve immediately.
We love these seasoned salmon bites as an appetizer (with these handy skewers) with our favorite dipping sauces (it’s great with jalapeno ranch or some sriracha mayo). We also love them tossed onto a salad–They’re perfect with the spring salad for brunch or this fall salad during football season!

Storage & Reheating Tips:
- Allow the salmon to cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3-4 days.
- To freeze, cool salmon before freezing for up to 3 months. You can protect it from freezer burn by wrapping each individual portion with plastic wrap, then storing all the servings in a freezer bag.
- Reheat low and slow. Mist with a few sprays of water, then reheat in the air fryer (325-350 degrees) for 3-5 minutes. If reheating a lot at once, you can use the oven at 300 degrees for 5-10 minutes.
- Skip reheating all together if you like! These salmon bites are delicious and stay nice and juicy straight from the fridge as well. Perfect for a salad, lettuce wrap, or some lunch charcuterie!
