Ingredients in Air Fryer Fish
As always, here is a quick overview of the ingredients used in our Air Fryer Fish Tacos. For the complete recipe, just scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Frozen battered fish fillets (I used Gorton’s)
- Tortillas
- Cojita cheese
- Red cabbage- shredded
- Toppings- sour cream, tomatoes, avocados or fiesta yogurt
How to make fish tacos
First, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees for 2 minutes. Spray your air fryer with oil and add your frozen fish fillets. Cook for 7 minutes and then flip. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes. When your fish is flaky, remove from the air fryer. Add your fish to your tortilla and top with shredded cabbage and cojita cheese. Top with sour cream, avocado, tomatoes or fiesta yogurt (yogurt mixed with ranch seasoning and lime juice).
Street Fish Tacos
If you can find the street taco sized tortillas, these fish fillets are perfect for those small tacos! Just use one fillet in each street taco tortilla for an easy-to-hold meal (great for parties and kids)!
What kind of tortilla should I use for these air fryer tacos?
Any kind you like! I used low-carb flour tortillas, but really any will work in this recipe. Corn tortillas, whole grain, or flavored tortillas would work as well. If you’re keto AND gluten free, I highly recommend trying these Zucchini Tortillas! They are easy to meal prep, super low carb, and they sneak in a vegetable!
Taco Bar Ideas
What’s better than an easy family meal that everyone can prepare themselves? Not much! Prepare this Air Fryer Fish recipe and serve with a few other meats for your taco bar. Slow Cooker Chicken, Marinated Flank Steak, or Instant Pot Carnitas are all easy to prepare and add a great variety without a ton of extra effort. Fiesta Veggies are perfect for a vegetarian option, too.
Add sides like this Avocado Bacon Dip, Seasoned Black Beans, Roasted Tomatillo Salsa or this Slow Cooker Bean Dip! Set out bowls of your favorite toppings and have a great taco bar night! These Keto Cinnamon Twists make for the absolute perfect dessert after tacos, too!
What should I serve with Fish Tacos?
These air fryer fish tacos would be delicious with a side of Cilantro Lime Cauliflower Rice — I even like to add a little in my taco! A salsa with a touch of sweetness (like this Homemade Pineapple Salsa or Sweet Corn Salsa) go great with the light-tasting fish, too.
Air Fryer Carrot Fries are a very kid-friendly vegetable easy to serve with fish tacos. A simple Cold Asparagus Salad would be easy to meal prep and serve alongside these quick tacos, too! Classic Cornbread Salad and Stuffed Sweet Peppers are also perfect sides for warm weather. For dessert, try Pina Colada Soft Serve or Strawberry and Vanilla Pudding Pops.
