Air Fryer Fish Sticks
Fish sticks are just one of those nostalgically perfect foods, aren’t they? The second you bite into one, you’re instantly reminded of your childhood! Sometimes we all need a little nostalgia, but combined with convenience, and that’s why I decided to make Air Fryer Fish Sticks! When you get fish sticks from a restaurant, they’re usually fried in oil and very greasy and soft. When cooked in the Air Fryer, they’re crunchy on the outside while the fish is perfectly flaky on the inside!
You won’t have any complaints or dinner arguments when you serve these. The adults and the kids will love them! This meal is great for dinners, lunch or even an easy snack. This easy weeknight meal is done in just minutes, which you really can’t beat! There’s also no prep work and very little clean up- it doesn’t get better than that!
One of my favorite things about cooking with my air fryer is how deliciously crispy it cooks everything. The breading on these frozen fish sticks cooks to a perfect golden brown with the help of the way an air fryer cooks things- hot air! The air fryer uses circulating hot air to warm and cook, so everything comes out evenly. Each side of the fish stick is crunchy while being tender on the inside!
How do you make Air Fryer Fish Sticks?
This recipe couldn’t be any easier. First, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F. Next, spray your air fryer with some spray oil. Add your fish sticks and cook for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway. That’s it! You’ll have dinner on the table in no time!
How long to cook Fish Sticks in Air Fryer
You’ll only need 10 minutes to have these fish sticks perfectly cooked! You’ll cook for 3-5 minutes then flip your fish sticks and continue cooking for 4-5 more minutes, or until they are brown enough for you.
Do I have to add oil in the Air Fryer?
You do not! There is no additional oil needed for this easy weeknight recipe. If you prefer your fish sticks to have a little extra crispness to them, you can add some spray oil.
Tips for the BEST frozen fish sticks in an Air Fryer
- Add your fish sticks to your air fryer in an even layer- this ensures that they cook evenly
- For extra crispiness, add some spray oil to your fish sticks
- Add a dipping sauce! Tartar sauce, hot sauce, Jalapeno Ranch Dip or Smoked Queso would all be good!
- If you’re cooking fish fingers in the air fryer, they may require a longer cooking time since they are thicker
Which brand is best for Fish Sticks in the Air Fryer?
I used Gorton’s Fish Sticks, but if you have a preferred brand go ahead and use it! Remember, this recipe is for fish sticks, if using a fish fillet follow the instructions for my favorite Air Fryer Fish and Chips.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Fish Sticks
Of course, fries! Try these Air Fryer Fries– this post includes how to cook any type of fry, so you can make your favorite kind! Air Fryer Tater Tots would also be perfect. You also can’t go wrong with Mozzarella Sticks in the Air Fryer or Air Fryer Baby Potatoes!
