One of the best things about this Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes recipe is that it’s so easy- all you really need to do is slice up a potato and pop it into the Air Fryer. In just a few minutes you’ll have the perfect potato- perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside!
Ingredients for Hassselback Potatoes
As always, here is a quick overview of the ingredients in our Hasselback Potato. For the complete recipe, just scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Potatoes: Russet or Idaho potatoes are best for this recipe. The thick flesh of these potatoes becomes ultra crispy, while the inside is light and fluffy.
- Butter: salted butter is preferred in this recipe.
- Flavor Makers: you will need fresh garlic, rosemary, parsley, garlic salt, and black pepper.
How do you cut hasselback potatoes?
You can use a hasselback guide to help you make perfect, uniform slices. If you do not have one don’t worry you can easily do this on your own with a good sharp knife and a little patience.
Carefully slice very thin sections of the potato, leaving a 1/2 inch base at the bottom of the potato. You can place two wooden spoons next to your potato to help as a guide so you do not accidentally slice through the potato.
How do you make Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes?
This delicious recipe is ready in only 4 simple steps!
- Thinly slice your washed potatoes- be careful to leave 1/2 inch at the base of the potato.
- Melt your butter and add your garlic, garlic salt, pepper and fresh rosemary and parsley.
- Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees for 3 minutes and add your potato to the basket or racks.
- Brush with your butter mixture and cook for 10 minutes. Brush with butter again and cook for 5-10 more minutes, or until fork tender. Brush with any leftover butter before serving.
Are potatoes gluten free?
Yes, potatoes are naturally gluten free! This Hasselback Potato recipe does not contain any gluten.
How to Store Potatoes
To store these potatoes, keep in a plastic or glass container with an airtight lid. Store in the fridge and enjoy within three days.
How to Reheat Potatoes
To reheat, skip the microwave, the potatoes will not be crispy. Instead, pop back into the Air Fryer and heat at 350 degrees F for 3-5 minutes or until crisp and warmed through.
Tips for Crispy Potatoes
- Take care to make sure you don’t cut your potato too deep- you want all of that delicious herb butter to soak in!
- I highly recommend using fresh parsley and rosemary- it adds a ton of flavor! But if your herb garden isn’t bringing in much this year, you can use dried spices
- Check your potatoes after about 15 minutes of cooking- you want to be sure that your potatoes are tender but are not getting overcooked
What should I serve with potatoes?
Honestly, these potatoes go with everything. You really can’t go wrong! You could make these potatoes the star of your dinner and serve with fun sides like Smoked Queso, Avocado Bacon Dip, Pretzel Bites or Whipped Feta Dip. These Hasselback Potatoes would also perfectly compliment Tuna Melt Stuffed Peppers, Air Fryer Hamburgers or One Pan Sausage Cheese Pasta.
