Air Fryer Sausage and Green Beans

I love this recipe for Air Fryer Sausage and Green Beans! Fresh green beans are seasoned with kosher salt, pepper and garlic powder, then tossed in olive oil. They’re cooked until they’re almost crisp, and then the dish is paired with sliced smoked sausage! The sausage and green beans are then cooked to perfection! This is a great keto meal, coming in at only 6 net carbs and taking only 10 minutes!

This meal is so great for an easy weeknight dinner. You’re getting protein from the sausage and fiber from the green beans, while remaining low in carbs! A healthy dinner recipe doesn’t have to mean you’re in the kitchen for hours! As an added bonus, this keto dinner recipe is also gluten free!

I am a huge fan of preparing meals in my Air Fryer. It cooks everything until it’s perfectly crispy without heating up my kitchen. Air Fryers also cook things super quickly and with minimal clean up.   • Sausage- I used smoked, but you could also use kielbasa, andouille or any type of sausage you prefer
  • Green beans- trimmed
  • Olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder

How do you make green beans in Air Fryer?

This recipe couldn’t be easier! Toss your green beans in your olive oil and seasonings. Cook for 5 minutes at 375 and then add your smoked sausage and toss to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes and you’re done!

Can I double this smoked sausage recipe?

Yes, this keto recipe can easily be doubled! You may need to prepare your food in batches so that you don’t have too much overlap in your Air Fryer. You want to be sure that everything is thoroughly cooked, so if it seems like the basket is too full, it’s best to just prepare in two rounds.

Seasoned Green Beans

One great thing about using an Air Fryer is that just by preparing your vegetables in it, you’re basically roasting them without using the oven. That means you’re going to get a lot of flavor out of them! But of course, you still want some seasonings! I kept it simple with this recipe, only using salt, pepper and garlic powder. These seasonings really allow the natural flavor of the green beans to shine, while providing a nice little kick!

Air Fryer Sausage

Since the smoked sausage is already fully cooked, you’re only going to need to cook it for long enough to get it nicely browned. I found 5 minutes to be just long enough for my Air Fryer Sausage, but if you prefer yours to be really browned, you could cook it for 1-2 minutes longer.

Are green beans keto?

Yes, green beans are keto! A serving size of one cup of green beans has 7 grams of carbs, but 4.3 grams of dietary fiber. That brings the net carb count to only 2.7 net carbs in an entire cup of green beans!

What should I serve with crispy green beans and sausage?

This healthy dinner recipe could easily be a meal on its own, but who doesn’t love sides? Try this Air Fryer Cauliflower, Marinated Mozzarella Balls or Roasted Zucchini with Parmesan for some easy keto side dishes. Ingredients 

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil OR olive oil spray
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 13.5 ounce package smoked sausage, sliced

Instructions 

  • Preheat the air fryer at 375 degrees for 3 minutes.
  • Toss the green beans with the olive oil (or spray well with oil) salt and garlic powder.
  • Add the green beans to the preheated air fryer basket and cook 5 minutes.
  • Open the basket and shake well, add the sliced sausage and cook an additional 4-5 minutes until the green beans have begun to brown and the beans have reached your desired consistency.
