Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour or cup4cup gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice or cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups finely chopped apple

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees for 3 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice. Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, stirring just until the ingredients are well combined and you see no streaks of flour or sugar left.
  • Fold in the finely chopped apples, making sure they're evenly distributed through the batter.
  • Place a liner in the air fryer. Spoon batter in 1/4-cup servings onto the liner, making sure to give a little space between each so they don't stick together. Cook 5 minutes, then flip and continue cooking another 4-5 minutes until done in the center. Place cooked fritters on a paper-towel lined plate, then continue with remaining batter until all fritters are cooked.
  • While the fritters are cooling, stir together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a bit more milk and stir again. Once it reaches your preferred texture, use a spoon to drizzle the glaze over the fritters. Serve immediately.

Notes

Gluten-free tip: If you prefer to use cup4cup GF baking flour, increase the milk to 3/4 cup for the best texture.
